This antique heavy-duty Suffolk-thumb latch fulfils both requirements and is built to last the outdoor wet and cold weather. The Suffolk – Thumb latch includes a handle with the thumb depressor and lever attached, which is typically mounted on the street side of the gate with the attached lever appearing through a drilled hole on the inside of the gate. When the thumb depressor is activated the lever will lift the latch, located on the inside of the gate up and down from the catch, allowing you to open and close the gate.
